Neumarkt (August 6th 2009) On August 1st the Desktop sharing specialist fastfiewer brought his latest development Version 3 (V3) to the market. Standard functions like video, VoIP and on-line chat are already built in. The new sidebar guarantees an optimized usage of the software-solution. License model has been adjusted to the market need, as well as the new price list for the new V3. The “Neumarkt-er” (Upper Palatinate) are willing to play a serious roll in this rapidly growing on-line Collaboration market. One of the most important innovations for users is the integration of Web clients. Fastviewer is browser based, that means it’s independent of the operating system.
Highlight functions of the new V3:
Viewer window
Several sessions can run parallel in one Viewer window. Fast shifting up and down, without leaving the application. For online Supporter this feature gives more flexibility, because the individual sessions can be switched comfortably with the Tab function, it saves real time (money).
FPM (fastviewer Port Mapper)
The Portmapper of fastviewer is an absolute novelty in Desktop sharing area. As many as desired ports of the opposite side can be mapped on local ports. Area of applications: analyzing of remote SQL servers with local database tools, to configure telephone systems, SPS programming, controlling of print servers in a remote network.
FCR (fastviewer COM Remoting)
FCR means an enormous time gained for technology partners for the implementation of the fastviewer application in existing subsystems and IT-infrastructures.
Session list
Overview gives security. For the use of communication systems it’s always important to have the complete overview, which’s meeting participant is allowed to see and who’s not. Even more important is the ability to manage different functions for different meeting participants. Therefore fastviewer implemented in V3 the session list. The Moderator gets a complete overview about relevant information of each single meeting participant and can activate, or deactivate functions per mouse click. The moderator can orchestrate the audience, and session like a conductor.
Webclient
To enter a meeting with V3 is easy, you only need a browser with Internet access. As many as desired persons could participate on a meeting with the Web client, dependent on the performance of the Web server. A meeting with more than 1.000 participants is not any longer a problem for fastviewer. The Web client is based on HTML and needs only a Java Script capable Web browser. V3 is completely operating system independent. The presentation on Windows Mobile, Blackberry or iPhone is now possible.
